Camilo Duran is quickly becoming one of the biggest talking points in Colombian football, with leading media outlets in his homeland praising the Celtic forward after he continued his impressive goal-scoring run in Scotland.
The 24-year-old striker found the net once again in Celtic’s dramatic 2-2 draw against Dundee United, taking his tally for the 2026/27 season to an impressive 11 goals and five assists across competitions.
Although the result prevented Celtic from claiming all three points, Duran’s latest contribution provided another reminder of his growing importance to the Scottish champions.
With his performances attracting increasing attention in Colombia, the forward is rapidly establishing himself as one of the most exciting Colombian players currently making an impact in European football.
Camilo Duran Emerges as Celtic’s Signing of the Season
Duran’s influence at Celtic has been remarkable, particularly considering how quickly he has adapted to life in Glasgow.
His combination of pace, movement, finishing ability and attacking intelligence has made him a dangerous presence in the final third.
With 11 goals and five assists already recorded, the Colombian has delivered the kind of attacking output that Celtic supporters will have hoped for when he arrived at the club.
His consistency has also been impressive. Duran has now scored in four consecutive Scottish Premiership matches, demonstrating his ability to find the net regularly rather than relying on occasional flashes of brilliance.
His performances have strengthened the belief that Celtic may have secured one of the most effective signings of the current campaign.
Despite the disappointment of dropping points against Dundee United, Celtic remain top of the Scottish Premiership with a four-point advantage, while Duran continues to provide a major attacking threat.
Leading Colombian Journalist Carlos Antonio Velez Praises Duran
Duran’s impressive performances have not gone unnoticed in his homeland, where prominent journalist and football analyst Carlos Antonio Velez has highlighted the forward’s outstanding statistics.
Speaking on Win Sports, Velez discussed the Colombian’s growing influence and pointed to his impressive goal contributions for Celtic.
The journalist highlighted Duran’s appearances, playing time, goals and assists, noting that his numbers become even more impressive when performances across different competitions are considered.
Velez also drew attention to Duran’s versatility, explaining that the forward frequently operates on the right wing while also contributing through central attacking positions.
His ability to influence matches from different areas of the pitch gives Celtic additional tactical flexibility and makes him more difficult for opposition defenders to contain.
The attention from Velez reflects the growing excitement surrounding Duran’s development and the possibility that he could become an increasingly important figure for Colombian football.
Revista La Liga Highlights Duran’s Growing Influence
Another Colombian outlet, Revista La Liga, has also praised Duran’s performances, describing his latest goal as further evidence of his rapid adaptation to Scottish football.
The publication noted that the forward’s contribution against Dundee United extended his impressive scoring record and reinforced his growing importance to Celtic’s attack.
It also highlighted his influence in the club’s recent 2-1 victory over Hibernian, underlining his ability to deliver important contributions during a demanding run of fixtures.
According to the outlet, Duran’s finishing ability is giving Celtic an immediate attacking threat, particularly because of his movement and effectiveness around the penalty area.
Although the draw against Dundee United left Celtic disappointed, his individual performance provided another positive talking point.
With 11 goals already to his name, expectations surrounding the Colombian are continuing to rise as he establishes himself in Glasgow.
AS Colombia Reveals Impressive Details Behind Duran’s Scoring Run
Leading Colombian publication AS Colombia also reported on Duran’s latest achievement, highlighting his remarkable consistency in front of goal.
The outlet noted that the forward had scored in four consecutive Scottish Premiership matches after opening the scoring against Dundee United.
Duran’s goal came in the 18th minute following an impressive attacking move involving several Celtic players.
Callum Osmand delivered a cross from the left, which Benjamin Nygren met at the far post before directing the ball towards Kasper Hogh. Hogh then provided the assist, allowing Duran to finish with a first-time shot.
The move demonstrated Celtic’s ability to create opportunities through coordinated attacking play, with Duran once again positioned to deliver the decisive finish.
AS Colombia also highlighted the forward’s overall record, reporting that he had scored 11 goals in 18 appearances.
His tally included seven goals in the Scottish Premiership, two in Champions League qualifying, one in the Europa League and one in the League Cup.
With seven league goals and five assists, Duran has also emerged as the Scottish Premiership’s leading scorer, according to the publication’s report.
Those numbers underline the scale of his impact and explain why Colombian journalists are paying close attention to his performances.
Colombia’s National Team Could Benefit From Duran’s Celtic Form
Duran’s rise in Scotland has already earned him recognition at international level.
The forward made his debut for Colombia last month after receiving a national-team call-up as a reward for his impressive club performances.
For a player looking to establish himself internationally, his continued productivity at Celtic could hardly have come at a better time.
Regular goals in a competitive European league provide an opportunity to demonstrate his quality, while his ability to play across different attacking positions could make him a useful option for Colombia.
However, maintaining his current form will be crucial if he hopes to become a regular member of the national team.
With competition for attacking positions likely to remain strong, Duran will need to continue delivering consistent performances for Celtic to strengthen his international prospects.
If he keeps scoring at his current rate, it will become increasingly difficult for Colombia’s coaching staff to overlook his contribution.
Can Camilo Duran Maintain His Incredible Form?
The biggest challenge for Duran now is sustaining his impressive start throughout the season.
Opposition teams will inevitably pay greater attention to his movement and finishing as his reputation grows, meaning he will need to continue adapting to the defensive attention he receives.
Celtic will also hope that his goals can help the club maintain its position at the top of the Scottish Premiership while making progress in cup competitions and Europe.
For supporters, Duran’s emergence represents a major boost to the team’s attacking options.
His combination of consistent scoring, assists and tactical flexibility has made him an increasingly influential player, while the praise from Colombia demonstrates that his performances are attracting attention well beyond Scotland.
At just 24, he also has considerable time to develop further and establish himself as an even more prominent figure in European football.
