Wildcats guard Collin Chandler and his wife Hannah are overjoyed to announce the birth of their first child, a healthy baby born this week to the young couple. The news was shared with smiles, gratitude, and a sense of awe as the two stepped into a new and exciting chapter of their lives — not just as husband and wife, but now as proud parents.
Though the exact birth date and name have not yet been made public, Chandler released a heartfelt message via social media on Sunday afternoon, expressing both his joy and humility at the life-changing moment.
“We are incredibly blessed. Hannah was amazing through everything. Holding our baby in my arms for the first time was surreal — it puts everything in perspective. Basketball is a huge part of my life, but nothing compares to this,” Chandler wrote.
A Big Year for Collin Chandler
For the former 4-star recruit and standout guard from Utah, 2025 has already been a whirlwind. After joining Kentucky and quickly becoming a key contributor in the Wildcats’ backcourt, Chandler’s leadership, athleticism, and work ethic drew praise from both teammates and coaches alike. Now, with a new baby at home, he’ll have even more motivation to succeed — on and off the court.
Head Coach Mark Pope, who has known Chandler since his high school days and played a pivotal role in bringing him to Lexington, offered his own words of celebration.

While the college basketball season can be grueling — with early morning practices, intense travel, and high-pressure performances — Chandler says he’s ready for the challenge of balancing his athletic commitments with his new role as a dad.
“I’ve always believed that structure and support are the keys to success. I’m lucky to have a great coaching staff and teammates who are like family. And most of all, I have Hannah — she’s the real MVP right now,” he said, smiling.
The couple, who married last year in a quiet ceremony surrounded by close friends and family, have frequently shared their deep bond and faith. It’s clear that their shared values — rooted in love, responsibility, and support — will guide them through this new chapter.
A Team Behind the Scenes
Support has poured in from fans, fellow athletes, and members of the Kentucky community since the announcement. Senior forward Tre Mitchell jokingly said, “We’re calling him ‘Dad Mode’ from now on. But honestly, it’s inspiring to see someone our age step into that kind of responsibility with so much love and maturity. He’s got all our respect.”
