The Baltimore Ravens won’t be playing in Super Bowl LIX, but one of the players in the game could end up joining their roster afterward.

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Zack Baun has had an outstanding season, emerging as one of the top players at his position and significantly elevating the team’s defense. However, with free agency approaching, he is expected to draw interest from multiple teams.

Anthony Palacios of Last Word on Sports believes Baltimore could be among Baun’s suitors.

“The Ravens boasted an explosive offense this past season, but their defense struggled to hold up its end of the bargain. Quarterback Lamar Jackson and power back Derrick Henry form one of the best offensive duos in the league, yet the team’s linebacker unit on defense is thinning. Trenton Simpson didn’t have a standout year after the departure of Jadeveon Clowney, while Kyle Van Noy and Roquan Smith kept the pass rush afloat. Odafe Oweh continues to develop, but David Ojabo has yet to make a major impact, primarily serving in a rotational role,” Palacios explains.

He suggests Baltimore might consider moving on from Ojabo and shifting Baun to an outside role to maximize his potential. With Van Noy getting older, adding Baun could bolster the Ravens’ defense, creating a dynamic tandem alongside Smith to help strengthen one of the league’s weaker pass defenses from last season.

Baun has been among the league’s top tacklers as a middle linebacker this year, and the Eagles will likely make every effort to retain him. However, if he hits the open market, Baltimore should be ready to make a strong offer.
