He The recent rumors about my potentially return to Duke as Director of Player Development are both exciting and humbling
As an alumnus of Duke University and a proud Blue Devil for life, I’ve always held a deep love and respect for everything the program stands for—excellence, family, tradition, and growth on and off the court. When I first stepped on campus as a young man with big dreams, Duke became more than just a school to me; it became home. Under Coach K and the entire staff, I grew—not just as a player, but as a person. So any time there’s speculation about me returning to Durham in an official capacity, it’s something I don’t take lightly.
The recent rumors about me potentially returning to Duke as Director of Player Development are both humbling and exciting. While nothing has been finalized, I want to be clear—I’m open and willing to serve my alma mater in any way I can. Giving back to the program that gave me so much is something I’ve always envisioned as part of my journey. Whether that’s mentoring current players, sharing insights from my NBA experience, or helping guide them through the highs and lows of their basketball and personal development, I’m ready to contribute however I’m needed.
I’ve been blessed to play at the highest levels—from winning an NCAA championship at Duke to being part of championship teams in the NBA. Along the way, I’ve learned what it takes to be a professional, how to carry yourself with integrity, and how to stay mentally locked in through challenges. These are the types of lessons I’d love to pass on to the next generation of Duke players.
The brotherhood is real. It extends far beyond our time wearing the jersey. Being part of this family means always showing up for one another, and for the university that shaped us. If this opportunity becomes official, I’d be honored to step into the role and do everything I can to uphold the legacy that Coach K, Coach Scheyer, and everyone associated with Duke Basketball have built.
For now, I’ll continue to stay ready, stay connected, and keep supporting Duke however I can. The journey continues, and if it leads me back to Durham in a new role, just know I’ll give it everything I’ve got.
Forever a Blue Devil.
